Assignment constraints

A checklist owner can add dependencies between assignments that Intacct calls constraints. A constraint is a restriction on an assignment based on the start or due date of a different assignment. Assignments can have multiple constraints.

For example, if you have a checklist that has five assignments, you could assign constraints to these assignments as follows:

AssignmentStart dateDue dateConstraintConstraints on this assignmentConstraints based on this assignment
AntApr 01Apr 10NoneNone (0)Bear (1)
BearApr 11Apr 15Start on or after - Ant due dateAnt (1)Cat (1)
CatApr 15Apr 20Start on or after - Bear due dateBear (1)Dog, Elephant (2)
DogApr 15Apr 20Finish by - Cat due dateCat (1)None
ElephantApr 16Apr 25Start on or after - Cat start dateCat (1)None

Assignment Ant has zero constraints set on it. However, assignment Bear depends on assignment Ant being completed before Bear can begin. This means assignment Ant has no constraints on it, but does have one constraint based on its due date.
